Treasure hunt back on
So the treasure hunt is back on. Saturday 30th July, at 1pm.
It is £25 for a day’s entertainment which I think you’ll agree is good value when you realise this is including four free drinks (with or without alcohol for those who have evening engagements) and a very reasonably priced bar afterwards.
It should be a lot of fun, I hope to see as many peopole there as possible. Check out the fundraising page for more details.

The cat is out of the bag
Just so everyone knows, we have now told my sisters so there is no need to keep it a secret any more! Thanks for doing a great job of keeping it quiet, it was an amazing surprise for them both!
As an added surprise, my older sister Jemma is going to be the medic for our trip as well, so all four of us are climbing the African mountain together, it’s going to be fantastic!

Hold your horses
Due to some unforeseen circumstances I’m going to postpone the treasure hunt until a little later in July.
I hope this doesn’t mess anyone’s plans up too much, I’m sorry it’s so last minute. This does, however, give you more time to put a team together if you didn’t have one already!

Only a week to go…
…until the London Treasure Hunt. It’s all arranged and primed to start next Saturday 2nd July at 13:00 at The Arbitrager Pub, 27a Throgmorton St, London, EC2N 2AN (nearest underground is Bank). It will cost £25, but I think you’ll agree that is reasonable when you take into account the FOUR free drinks you’ll get, as well as a fantastic day’s entertainment (plus its all for charity of course).

Training Walks
In preparation for the ‘big climb’ I am starting my training walks in south and central London in mid-May. These will range from moderate to fairly long and will hopefully take in some good sights of the area.
It would be great for anyone interested in gaining/improving their walking fitness, you are welcome to come along.

Information Day
On the 16th April I went to the Kilimanjaro information day at the Alzheimer’s Society, which was excellent. I know have a much better idea of what I’ve got myself into and it seems both more difficult and more exciting.
I am very much looking forward to seeing the mountain, the views and the summit, and am not really looking forward to altitude sickness, chemical toilets and the midnight ascent to the summit.
Training is underway to an extent and I am looking forward to some multi-hour treks round our capital.
