The alarm clock rings, a most unwelcome sound. I get out of bed and feel a tingle of excitement - today is the day. After a year of planning, training and fundraising we are finally setting off on our journey to Samoens.
Breakfast is a warm bowl of porridge and a cup of tea. The excitement is building as the other orchids rise and we start nervous banter about the day ahead.
